PicLoka Privacy Policy
Effective date: 18 September 2026
This privacy policy explains how the PicLoka Android app ("PicLoka", "the app") handles information. PicLoka is developed by Ravi Labs ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to this policy.
In short
PicLoka needs no account and never asks for your name, email, phone number, contacts or photos.
There are no ads, and we never sell your information.
To fix crashes and improve the app, PicLoka sends anonymous usage and crash reports through Google Firebase. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Your favourites, picks and settings stay on your phone.
Information stored only on your phone
PicLoka keeps the following on your phone, and does not send it to us:
The categories you picked ("My Picks")
Your favourite wallpapers
Your notification, daily wallpaper, theme and privacy settings
Notices about app updates you have already seen
A copy of the wallpaper catalogue and cached images, so the app opens quickly and works offline
Images you save are stored in your phone's Pictures/PicLoka folder.
If you have turned on Android's backup to your Google account, Android may include your PicLoka settings in that backup. This is handled by Google under your Google account settings.
Internet connections
PicLoka connects to the internet only to:
Download wallpapers and the wallpaper catalogue from cdn.picloka.download, which is hosted on Cloudflare.
Check Google Play for app updates.
Send anonymous usage statistics, crash reports and app speed measurements to Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring). This stops if you turn off Settings → Privacy → Share usage and crash reports.
All of these connections are encrypted (HTTPS).
Usage and crash reports
PicLoka uses Google Firebase to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
What is collected
When "Share usage and crash reports" is on (it is on by default), PicLoka collects:
Which screens are opened, and actions such as choosing a category, saving, sharing, setting a wallpaper, using the editor, adding favourites and changing the theme, including the category and image involved
Crash reports, when the app crashes or stops responding
App speed measurements, such as how long the app takes to start and to load images
Basic device details, such as phone model, Android version, app version, language and approximate country (worked out by Google from the connection, not from GPS)
A random app installation ID created by Firebase, which is not linked to your name or Google account
What is not collected
PicLoka does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos or messages, and does not use your phone's advertising ID.
How it is used
This information is used only to find and fix problems and to improve PicLoka. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used for ads. It is processed by Google on our behalf under Google's own privacy terms.
Your choices
You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share usage and crash reports. To ask us to delete data collected from your device, email us at the address below.
Permissions
PicLoka asks for these Android permissions:
Internet and network state: to download wallpapers, check for updates and send usage and crash reports.
Notifications: to show the daily wallpaper and new wallpaper notifications you turn on in Settings.
Set wallpaper: to set an image as your home or lock screen wallpaper when you ask.
Storage (Android 9 and older only): to save images to your Pictures folder. Newer Android versions need no storage permission.
Sharing
When you share an image or the app link, PicLoka passes it only to the app you choose, such as WhatsApp. PicLoka does not see or store what you send there.
Children's privacy
PicLoka is meant for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Third-party services
PicLoka uses these services, which have their own privacy policies:
Cloudflare (wallpaper hosting): cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
Google Play (app updates): policies.google.com/privacy
Google Firebase (usage and crash reports): firebase.google.com/support/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
